Key US bishop praises judge's decision on immigration law |
The chairman of the US bishops’ Committee on Migration has joined the bishops of Arizona in praising a federal judge’s July 28 ruling that prevented parts of Arizona’s controversial immigration law from taking effect. “It is the right decision,” said Bishop Wester of Salt Lake City. “Any law that provides legal cover to profiling affects all members of our communities, including legal residents and citizens. It is a very slippery slope.
