RCIA is a process which provides people who have not been baptized in any Christian faith the opportunity to become members of the Roman Catholic Church. By means of a four phased process, the “Catechumens”, as they are called, are provided an introduction into what it means to be Catholic and how the Catholic Christian life is lived. The process involves weekly meetings beginning in the Fall and culminating in the reception of the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist at the Easter Vigil next Spring, April 3, 2010.

That same process is available to people who have received Baptism in another Christian church and who wish to be received into full communion in the Roman Catholic Church through reception of the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist. The requirements are largely the same for these “Candidates” as for Catechumens.
